Information for Prospective Members
Thank you for your interest in Buckingham Racquet Club (BRC)!
Founded in 1968, BRC is a private, nonprofit, member-operated club consisting of seven outdoor hard courts, a clubhouse, and Men’s and Women’s locker rooms. Although the clubhouse is closed during the winter, the courts are available year-round (weather permitting) and can be lighted until 11:00 pm. Courts are available on a first-come, first-served basis, with time limits on play when there are members waiting for a court.
Organized member activities take place from mid-April through September. These include Men’s and Women’s singles and doubles tournaments, mixed doubles tournaments and round robins. Some tournaments are competitive while others are strictly social – there is truly something for every player!
The club also hosts a number of social events, including the Ladies Luncheon, Men’s Breakfast and End-of-the-Season Social. BRC also fields two teams that compete in the Women’s Inter-Club Tennis League (Cup), playing home and away matches on Mondays from mid-April to mid-June.
Membership Financial Commitment
Upon being extended an offer to join, new members are required to pay:
- A non-refundable initiation fee of $2,000
- A redeemable, non-interest-bearing certificate of $500
The total initial commitment of $2,500 may be paid in full at the time of acceptance or spread over three years through an installment plan. The installment option includes a $200 fee, resulting in three annual payments of $900, for a total of $2,700.
In addition to initiation fees, members are required to pay annual dues, which are due by March 1 each year. Dues vary depending on the selected Membership Category. Current dues amounts and category definitions are outlined below.

*Family Membership: Defined as a married couple or domestic partners, with or without children under the age of 22, residing in the same household.
**Single-Parent Family Membership: Defined as one parent with children under the age of 22, residing in the same household.

There is currently a waiting list for membership to BRC. Your place on the waiting list is based on the date that appears on your application. The Membership Chair will acknowledge the receipt of your application and will provide you with information on your position on the waiting list and what to except during the admissions process.
